Finished 2nd tonight in grants, led 22 of 25 until lapped cars slowed me, and allowed andrew to pass me for the lead with 3 to go. All in all a great weekend with a fast car and clean racing. I would like to thank visionquest motorsports and my parents for gving me a great car to work with, and Gordon Seros for the great motor. I would also like to thank M&R appliance, Jakes Custom Paint and Body, Fastenal, and Rick O'Neil Photography for everything they do.

June 5, 2010

It's great to be back racing with the Modified Midgets of New Mexico. This was our first time running with them and our first time back at the track at Tularosa, NM this year.  One of the hottest days this season made for a dusty track for the main. Improving the car with each race. Hopefully will be challenging for the lead soon.

Took the car out for the first time back to the track that I wrecked on last year.  It was a good shake down and test and tune for the car and myself.  Started scratch in the heat and finished 6th due to the car popping out of gear.  Did some adjustments before the main with ride height.  Had transmission trouble with the car not wanting to stay in gear.  Finished the main in 12th place,  but we finished.  Will be down for a couple of weeks while we repair the transmission.  Looking forward to coming back to Show Low Memorial Day weekend for a 2 day show.

The end of the year had it's Ups and Downs. With the closing of Hollywood Hills and loosing half the race season we were left searching for places to race. August in Amarillo, our first short track, I wound up in the wall 3 times rolling the car. A special thanks to the track for helping us find replacement wings and to Lonnie who took us under his wing the second night and helped with set up. Finished 9th in the 40 lap main.

Raced Labor Day in Show Low AZ. Doing quite well until a car pushed up in turn 1 and we touched tires. My car went flying into the wall then rolled 3 times.  The car was pretty much destroyed and my left forearm was broken.  The emergency team at the track and the Arizona Mini Sprints took great care of me and my mangled car.  My arm is now completely healed and I'm able to type again!  Raced Thanksgiving in Arizona in the Quarter Midget and finished 2nd in the Heavy Honda class. Raced in Tucson over New Years in the Quarter Midget and again found a wall in the main!

Looking forward to a busy 2010, can't wait for the new car to be completed. Will post schedule as soon as we know all the track schedules.  Planning on racing in New Mexico, Arizona and venture into Texas and Oklahoma for a few races.

SEASON OPENER AZTEC SPEEDWAY - APRIL 18TH, 2009

In the heat I started in 7th out of 9 cars in my heat. One car passed me due to not being able to see my entry to turn one. I ran in 8th place the whole race with no cautions. In finishing 8th place in the heat I got to start 14th in the feature event. I immediately went to the high side and started passing cars running on the bottom line with ease. I worked my way up to 6th place when we had a caution for a single car wreck in turn 2. We had a double file restart, so I had to start on the outside. I got a really jump on the start so I went to pass a car on the outside when all of a sudden the second place car stalled and pinched me near the wall. There was no caution so I fell all the way back to 13th place with 3 laps to go. I was able to pass one car by the end of the race, but I was not able to make all the positions back up so we finished in 12th out of 21 cars. We thought that was good because that was our first time at that race track.

VISITING ASPHALT - ROADRUNNER QMA ROUTE 66 NATIONALS July 11& 12, 2009

This weekend I raced the quarter midget for only the second time this year. I was a little bit rusty during hot laps then I finally got used to being back in the car. I started second in my heat. I tried to jump the 1st place car to get into the lead, I failed. I hung on the outside for about 2 laps when I finally got shuffled back to fourth place, the last place. The 3rd place car and I started to battle all through the race crossing over on each other for the position. We passed back 2 times a lap until the checkered. I was able to pass her in the 3rd corner of the last lap and finish 3rd. In the main I started 4th. During hot laps before the race, 1st position car went into the pits and didn’t come back out in time, so I started 3rd. this time I was able to get the jump on the 1st place car and take the lead, but we had the wrong gear in the car so they caught me quickly. I got shuffled back to 4th place again only this time instead of battling I bump drafted with the 3rd place car. I waited till 2 laps to go when I finally made my move. I ended up finishing 3rd.
